Have you ever dreamt of doing something you never thought you could do? That was me just a few short years ago. I was TV channel surfing and happened to catch a painting show and thought “That looks easy enough to do. Why can’t I do that?” My husband thought I was crazy and wasting my hard earned money but I waited anxiously for the kit to arrive. To cut a long story short – I took that kit and practiced and practiced and all of a sudden I was painting. Since that first day when I picked up the paint brush and figured out which end to use I have not looked back.
I have been told that it is unusual to see one artist with such an eclectic variety of styles. I guess it’s because I just didn’t know any better! I am happy to design something specific to your size, style, color, or whatever your needs may be. My smallest painting is on a glass bead and the largest to date was with volunteers designing a 100 foot wall mural for a school project.
I have been fortunate enough to paint with many of my favorite artists over the years and learn valuable tips from all of them. My thanks go out to Brenda Harris, Wilson Bickford, Dorothy Dent, Robert L. Lewis, Marjorie Harris Clark, Donna Dewberry, and Glenice Moore to name a few.
I have also expanded my repertoire to include polymer clay. I have been published in the Decorating Digest Home and Craft, September/October 2009 edition, for a wedding cake topper designed to reflect the bride’s bouquet.
I am currently the planning committee chairperson for the SouthEast chapter of TEAM. (Artteachers.org )
I taught at the Houston Art Expo 2014, I will be in Las Vegas in February 2015 other events are pending scheduling at this time.
